Year 4 have been busy enjoying Wednesday afternoons at Forest School. Each class has enjoyed building dens, climbing trees, playing (and creating) woodland games, making bows, arrows and sling shots as well as the obligatory lighting fires: toasting marshmallows, waffles, pancakes and the odd baked banana (with chocolate of course!); using tools such as bow-saws and bill-hooks to create our own woodland animals; and some of us have even made our own Mexican Eyes.
We have learnt lots socially too: learning to collaborate and support each other when times have become challenging climbing trees and even used our time outside to learn how to manage and take risks. We have enjoyed seeing the seasons change and adapting our environment too (burying each other under the leaves was a particularly fun time for some of us!). We have all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Forest Schools
