Wellbeing Ambassadors

At Shirley Heath Junior School, we are constantly thinking about how we can develop the whole child.

We support children’s mental health in a range of ways-

  • P.S.H.E. lessons teaching mental health strategies
  • Children give a registrations wellbeing score out of 10 every day which teachers follow up on
  • Pastoral support as needed from the teacher, teaching assistant, Pastoral Manager or an outside agency
  • Wellbeing days and assemblies

We have recently trained 20 Wellbeing Ambassadors who were selected by their teachers as they demonstrate our value of empathy, showing kindness to their peers and being positive role models.

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors are an enthusiastic team who are keen to share their learning around mental health and advertise the importance of self-care. The Ambassadors have a responsibility for leading and promoting wellbeing throughout school, they drive the message forward and release the stigma around talking about challenging feelings and encourage people to talk.
