Admissions

Most of Shirley Heath's pupils transfer from Woodlands and Blossomfield Infant Schools but a minority of children come from other Infant Schools.  Two Open Days and one Open Evening are held in October and November for prospective parents to visit the school.  If these dates are not convenient, an alternative appointment may be made with the Headteacher.

Each year Solihull Local Authority Admissions Team publishes details of the admission arrangements for Solihull schools.  Further information can be found at:

Infant to junior transfer

All children in a Solihull infant school will receive an application form to transfer to their linked junior school.  They will receive this form in September of year 2.  If the application form is completed and returned before the closing date, the child is guaranteed a place at the linked junior school.

What is a linked infant school?

All infant schools have an identified linked junior school. Parents of children at the infant school have a guaranteed place at the linked junior school if they wish to accept it. If you want to take up a place at the linked junior school, you must still complete the application form and name the linked junior school as a preference. If you want to take up your place at the linked junior school, you must still accept it.

Year 2 to Year 3 Transition

Transfer at 11 years

All children in Solihull primary schools will receive information on how to apply for a secondary school place in July of year 5.  The places are offered in March when the child is in year 6.
