History

Through history at Shirley Heath, all children will have secure a chronological understanding and knowledge of British history across the periods studied, including ancient civilisations to the present day, with a variety of overviews of a period and in depth studies to understand the history of the wider world. Pupils will have the chance to use a range of sources to develop their understanding of the world around them, including their knowledge of key historical events and key historical figures. The children will be provided with the chance to ask historically valid questions about change, cause, consequence, similarity, difference and significance.
