Fundamental Movement Skills
Real PE:
Real PE provides the children with the required Fundamental Movement Skills that are required to engage with physical activity, whilst also giving the children a chance to engage with physical literacy, emotional support and thinking skills – linking Physical Education to many areas of the Primary National Curriculum.
Year 3 / 4: Introducing the Fundamental Movement Skills and providing children with varying opportunities to enhance their progress. A greater focus on the FUNS cards – skill element of the lesson.
Year 5 / 6: Consolidation of these Fundamental Movement Skills in preparation for secondary education. A greater focus on the Skill Application (Game) – utilising the FUNS cards from Y3/4 and recapped cards from previous skill element of the lesson.
