The Whole Child and Nurture

Our Whole Child approach emphasizes the importance of nurturing not just academic success, but also the emotional, social, and physical well-being of students. This holistic perspective ensures that each child develops essential life skills, resilience, and a love for learning.

Key components of the Whole Child philosophy include:

1. Safety: Creating a safe and supportive environment where students feel secure and valued.

2. Engagement: Encouraging active participation in learning through interactive and relevant experiences.

3. Support: Providing personalized support to meet individual needs, fostering growth in both academics and personal development.

4. Healthy Relationships: Promoting strong relationships among students, educators, and families to enhance social skills and emotional health.

5. Wellness: Encouraging physical health through nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being practices.

By focusing on the whole child, we can help students develop not just as learners, but as well-rounded individuals prepared for life's challenges.

The children are taught about the 6 principles and supported with each one through quality first teaching, relationships with teachers and teaching assistants and, where needed, support from our Pastoral Manager and outside agencies.
Teachers carefully consider each child’s social, emotional and behavioural development, ensuring that they receive the support and encouragement that they need.
Staff work together with children and parents to develop the whole child and to support parents as needed. Look at this website for more information about the nurturing approach that we follow-
