Connecting classrooms - Manyama Primary School, Zambia
At Shirley Heath, we are lucky to be partnered with Manyama Primary School in Zambia. The aim of the project is for us to learn more about what it is like to be a child growing up in Manyama village and to educate each other about our different lives at home and at school.
The first step in our journey was to let the children in Zambia learn a little bit about our home lives. We drew pictures of what we could see from our window so they could see how different our view would be. Along with our pictures, we sent some photos of our school work and asked some questions to find out more about their lives and what their homes and school looked like.
We received photos of the children at their school and can see how different their building is compared to ours. They have 100 children in each classroom! Unfortunately, Manyama was back in lockdown for some of last year, but luckily they have returned to school now and we are hoping they will send us some more information soon.
